  • Linda M. Hankins, DVM

     

    Dr. Hankins joined Belton Small Animal Clinic in 1997.  She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Texas A&M University in 1994.  After graduating, she spent three years at the Animal clinic in Galveston.  Dr. Hankins grew up wanting to become a veterinarian, applying for her first job when she was eight years old, only to be told to come back when she was sixteen. At fifteen, Dr. Hankins started her career at a veterinary practice.

    Veterinary practice allows one to utilize the love of animals, problem solving while building long lasting relationships with the pets and their families.  It also allows for a variety of experience including education of owners, internal medicine, radiology, anesthesiology and surgery.

    Dr. Hankins enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and playing cards.  Duncan, her Border Collie, is always close at hand and she has a small herd of cows she shares with her brother and sister-in-law, Kelly and Lizzy.

  • Suzanne Brown, DVM

     

    Dr. Suzanne M. Brown joined Belton Small Animal Clinic in the fall of 2011.  Originally from the Houston area, she spent 8 years as an associate veterinarian in Temple.  She has the unique distinction of being both a Longhorn and an Aggie, with an undergraduate degree in Zoology from the University of Texas at Austin and a DVM from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine.

    Her professional interests include internal medicine, anesthesiology, feline medicine, and diagnostic ultrasound.  She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, the North Central Texas District Veterinary Medical Association, and is on the Board of Directors of the Animal Emergency Center of Temple-Belton.

    Dr. Brown enjoys international travel and is fluent in Spanish.  She lives out in the country with her husband Craig and their three young daughters, twins Anna and Grace, and the youngest Claire.  They share their home with their blue heeler mix Daisy, rottweiler mix Maddie and their cockatiel Piper.

  • Dana Tedesco, DVM

     

    Dr. Tedesco joined the Belton Small Animal Clinic in 2013. Born and raised a Michigan Wolverine, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of Michigan and her DVM from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, she moved to Austin, Texas for a rigorous internship in small animal emergency medicine and surgery. She spent a year as a wildlife veterinarian in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, working with local wildlife including black bears and bald eagles, before finding her way back to Central Texas.

    Dr. Tedesco’s interests include emerging infectious diseases and wound management. She shares her North Austin home with a dachshund  mix named Olive, a kitty named Sprinkler, and a human named James.  In her free time, she enjoys distance running, vegetarian cooking, and curling up with a good book. Dr. Tedesco just welcomed a new baby to her family, Michael James and he is a cutie.

  • Kasandra Hill, DVM


    Dr. Hill joined Belton Small Animal Clinic in August 2014. She grew up in a small town in Southwest Kansas and spent many summers at her grandparents farm in the panhandle of Oklahoma.  Dr. Hill gained a lot of experience working side by side with her grandpa while raising cattle and harvesting wheat.

    Dr. Hill attended Clarendon College for one year to play volleyball and then transferred to Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU).  Here, she continued to play volleyball and graduated with a degree in Biology.  SWOSU is also where she met her future, wonderful husband, Jason.  After graduation, her husband returned to Arlington to start his career in coaching/teaching and Hill attended veterinary school at Kansas State University. Upon graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Hill joined her husband in Arlington.  After two years in Arlington, Jason transferred to Moody High School, where he is coaching football, and Kasandra joined BSAC.

    Dr. Hill's special interests in veterinary medicine include soft tissue surgery and ophthalmology.  The Hill's have a Border Collie mix named Molly Bean and they just added Dexter Dog, a Lab mix, who was abandoned, to their family. Dr. Hill and her husband just welcomed a son, Augustus Rory, to their family.Congratulations.

    Dr. Hill enjoys being outdoors, going to the lake, and watching her husband coach at the high school football games.

  • Jessica Webster, DVM


    Dr. Jessica Webster recently joined the staff of Belton Small Animal Clinic. She graduated from Texas Tech in 2012 with her Animal Science degree and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University in 2016. Dr. Webster grew up on a farm and has known for a long time that she wanted to become a veterinarian. She has always loved animals!

    Dr. Webster's professional interests include ophthalmology, primary care, ultrasound and dermatology. She is a member of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

    Dr. Webster enjoys spending time with her Duncan, a Scottish Terrier, and Gwen, a fiesty tortoise shell cat. The most important thing in her life is her faith in Jesus. She likes being outdoors, cooking, reading and spending time with her friends and family.

  • Meagan Sims, DVM


    Dr. Meagan Sims joined Belton Small Animal Clinic in May 2016. She grew up in Midland, TX on a small hobby farm. From Midland, she went to College Station and obtained her bachelor’s degree in biomedical science from Texas A&M University. Dr. Sims continued at Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine where she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in May 2016.

    Dr. Sims professional interests include dermatology, preventative care for all life stages and orthopedic disease. She is a member of American Veterinary Medical Association and the Texas Veterinary Medical Association.

    When not at the clinic, Dr. Sims can be found with her fiancé, Josh, and their two dogs, a German shepherd mix named Poppy and a Shetland sheepdog named Asa. Her hobbies include hiking and watching vintage science fiction movies.

    Erica joined BSAC in March 2015.  She has been working in the veterinary field since 2003 and completed her degree in Veterinary Technology in 2014. Senior pets are her favorite. Erica and her husband have lived in Texas, Arizona and North Carolina. They have a family of furred and feathered babies of all sizes and age.

    Jimmie joined Belton Small Animal Clinic mid 2012.  She has over 11 years of experience in the veterinary field. Jimmie just recently made the switch from receptionist to technician. She married her high school sweetheart and they have 6 kids.  They have 2 chihuahuas named Robey and Bella and a mastiff/ridgeback mixed named Honee.  Jimmie enjoys shopping and spending time with her family.

    Alison comes to BSAC with over 15 years experience in the veterinary arena. Her first job in 2000 was as a vet tech. She graduated from Texas A&M in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in wildlife and fisheries.  For several years, she worked for Scott & White's animal research facility then went back to being a vet tech. Alison has 4 dogs: 2 labs, a Brittany Spaniel and a pit mix. She enjoys spending her free time with family and her animals on her family's ranch. Welcome Alison.

She is a retired firefighter/paramedic.Cindy still cares for patients but now they have four leggs instead of two. She loves to read and travel with her husband.     Casey has been with BSAC since 2011. She started as part of the kennel staff and has advanced to technician. Casey is originally from Killeen/Harker Heights area and graduated from Harker Heights High School. She began her undergraduate degree at LSU and will continue her education elsewhere this fall. Casey is a real animal lover and has experience working with everything from cats and dogs to sloths and kangaroos.

    Technician

    Lucy moved to the area 24 years ago as an "Army Brat". She has been a veterinarian technician for 4 years. She divides her time with BSAC and the Animal Emergency Center of Temple-Belton, where she has worked for over a year. Lucy is a mother of 2 children and 4 canines - 3 English Bulldogs and 1 Rhodesian Ridgeback. In her spare time, Lucy enjoys Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and horseback riding.

    Technician

    Cassie is our newest member to our team and joined us in September 2016. She recently moved to Belton from the Dallas area where she was a vet tech for 4 years and prior to that a kennel tech for 3 years in College Station. Cassie has 1 daughter, who she calls her "ginger baby" and 2 Australian Shepherds. She is referred to as "the tiny house lady" since she and her family are currently having one built.     Emily just did a lateral move at BSAC from being part of our kennel staff to becoming a technician. She is a local girl, born and raised in Temple, TX. She is currently attending Texas A&M University - Central Texas pursuing a business management degree. After graduating in the spring of 2017, Emily would like to open her own animal shelter and/or an animal playground/daycare. Welcome Emily.

    Stacee is new to the veterinary profession.  She comes to BSAC from the education world.  She graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with a degree in education.  For fourteen years, she taught science in middle, high school, and was a counselor and a registrar. Stacee has a daughter, Merah, who is very involved in 4-H.  They have 3 dogs, 2 cats, a rabbit and 13 goats.

    Receptionist

    Joyce's favorite time of year is summer because she loves all the water activities and camping. Her favorite pastime is to take as many cruises as possible to the Caribbean.  She enjoys shopping (especially Black Friday) and dining out. Joyce has lived in Belton for 25 years.  She and her husband have two grown kids, 5 dogs and 1 cat.  Joyce has been with BSAC for 5 years and loves interacting with the pets and their owners.

    Receptionist

    Taylor has recently joined Belton Small Animal Clinic's kennel staff.  She is
    originally from St. Louis, MO and moved to Temple earlier this
    year to be with her longtime boyfriend, Tim, who is an EMT.
    Taylor obtained her culinary degree from L'ecole Culinaire,
    St. Louis and has worked in many different types and styles of
    restaurants. At the present time, Taylor is looking into
    changing her career to work where her real passion lies, with
    animals. Taylor and Tim have 2 dogs and one cat - Charlie a
    chocolate lab, Marley a pit mix, and Odin the cat. Her hobbies
    include reading, participating in outdoor activities, and writing.
    Taylor also enjoys a wide range of music and enjoys going to shows
    and concerts.

    Robin joined BSAC in August 2015. She moved to Belton in 1991 and has been married to her husband, Michael, for 27 years.  Together they owned and operated a general contracting company and Dooley's Pool Hall. Robin has been a client of Belton Small Animal Clinic for 21 years. Growing up, Robin wanted to become a veterinarian so getting to work in vet clinic is the next best thing to her dream job. Robin has a 3yr old black English Lab "Lily" and 3 cats; Jinx, Hissy and Hazy. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, fishing, billiards (plays on 2 league teams; 9 ball and a ladies 8 ball) , hockey and watching old movies.

    Receptionist

    Maria is our newest member to our reception staff. She is a local girl from Temple. She has worked in the medical field  for 15 years and is also a seamstress. Maria has 5 boys, and 2 dogs Elsa, the Chihuahua and Honey the Shih Tzu. She recently married, Victoria, in October and they enjoy fishing and going to the lake. Maria enjoys being around animals so she fits in nicely at BSAC.

    Receptionist

    Candy joins BSAC with over 20 years in customer service and  recently made the decision to pursue her passion in working with animals. She has earned a entry level certificate for Veterinary Assistant at CTC and is eager to further her education to learn as much as she can working with all types of animals.
          She has been married to Charlie for 22 yrs and they have 3 children,   She has also welcomed her 1st grandson to the family this past March.
          They have always been blessed with animals in their family and at this time they have 2 Chihuahuas, 1 Boxer, 1 Papillon, 1 Miniature Pinscher, 2 Cats, 3 Finches, and 1 Cockatiel. She believes a family is not complete with out a pet or two.
         Candy's free time is spent with her family, photography, fishing and relaxing at the coast.

He enjoys all types of sports, art, business and taking care of animals.  Tyler is in the process of saving money for college and would like to pursue a degree in business or animal care. In the mean time, he will be working as part of our kennel staff, with the desire to become a vet tech.

    Lauren joined us in August 2015. She is currently a sophomore at Belton High School and is involved in the Vet Tech program. Lauren has always been around animals so her passion to become a veterinarian started at a young age. Her and her mother breed pure-bred Shih-Tzus so she is constantly in the company of puppies. She enjoys yoga, spending time with her family and friends, shopping, traveling and dog sitting. She has a twin brother, Garrett, and 8 other "siblings", 6 dogs and 2 cats! Laurens plan for the furture is to graduate with honors from BHS, attend Texas A&M and then follow on at Texas A&M Vet School.

    Jerod joined the BSAC staff in Aug 2015. He is a junior at Belton High School and is involved in the Vet Tech program. Jerod has grown up with all types of animals and enjoys raising and showing goats. Because of his love for animals, Jerod has always wanted to work at a vet clinic and would like to attend Tarleton University and major in Animal Science and then continue on to vet school. Jerod has 4 younger siblings, 2 human brothers, Joseph and Joel, a lab mix named Duke and a Kelpie Pointer mix named Daisy.

    Kennel Staff

    Brittany joined BSAC in September of 2015. She grew up in Belton and has always loved animals. As a child, she was always bringing home stray kittens and puppies. She even took in injured birds and lizards. Brittany graduated from Belton High school in 2013 and then moved to Austin. There she began fostering anything from rats and lizards to dogs and cats. Her goal has always been to help animals find a safe and loving home. In 2014 she moved back to Belton, and has since continued to foster a wide variety of animals. Along with fostering she also has a lot of pets of her own. For the time being, she has two gerbils (Asha and Téa), three pet rats (Minnie, Gemma, and Darcy), a dachshund named Peanut and a brown tabby cat named Cornelius (who sometimes thinks he is a rat). Her hobbies are reading and writing as well as designing costumes. Brittany is extremely happy to be working at BSAC and hopes to continue helping animals in any way she can.

    Rachel joined BSAC in December of 2015. She grew up in Belton and has formed a life long love for animals. Rachel is a junior at Belton New Tech High @ Waskow and is involved in Belton FFA and the Vet Tech program. She enjoys riding and barrel racing her 4 horses as well as having the company of her 3 dogs, Olive, Pipsqueak and Paisley. Rachel plans to attend Tarleton University where she would like to major in animal science.
